SHIFTING FATE by Wren Michaels

Shifting Fate
Wren Michaels

Blurb:

Sylvia Schneider loves her some Navy SEALs, but only the ones she creates digitally for the video game she’s producing with Noah Wright. Devastated by the death of her military fiance, she hasn’t dated in two years, much less left her apartment. But when Noah asks her to introduce the new game at a convention in Vegas, she’s forced out of the house and her shell. To top off her already building anxiety, she’s been getting nastygrams from someone claiming she stole their game design. Threats on her life send her to Gerri, owner of the Paranormal Dating Agency, for a shifter bodyguard. Sylvia is adamant that it’s just for the weekend, and just for an escort, and not that kind of escort.

Braxton “Brawn” O’Brien was the runt of his pack. He left home to make a name for himself as a Navy SEAL, where as even the smallest wolf, he towers among the humans, using his preternatural abilities to save lives. But lately his wolf side has been battling anger issues, and the rage inside him cannot be quelled. He’s forced into medical leave to figure out what the problem is, or his military career is over.

When Gerri hooks Braxton up with a bodyguard gig while on leave, he hopes she can also find him a mate to satisfy the beast roaring inside him. One look at his charge, Sylvia, and he knows she’s the one. The problem is then convincing the spunky, yet shy human of the same. When the threats on her life turn into attacks, Braxton will hunt until his last breath to keep his mate safe. But Sylvia’s got secrets of her own, that may make or break the mating bond.

My Review:

Once I started I had a really hard time putting it down. One of the fun things about these Kindle World books is the cross over of characters. Braxton was introduced in a previous book, but this is completely a standalone book.

Sylvia needs to go to Vegas to reveal her game, but with the threat she’s received, she contacts Gerri (my all-time favorite matchmaker) to have some security for the event. Security, that’s all Silvia wants… But really? This is Gerri we are talking about. It’s never that simple with her.

As with most shifter books, the connection between Silvia and Braxton is immediate and hot, both literal and figuratively. Braxton will do anything to keep Silvia safe and the danger came from a source I wasn’t quite expecting.

A fast, exciting, sexy read! Loved every minute of this book.

Author Bio:
Wren hails from the frozen tundra of Wisconsin where beer and cheese are their own food groups. But a cowboy swept her off her feet and carried her below the Mason-Dixon line to Texas, where she promptly lost all tolerance for cold and snow. Fueled by coffee, dreams, and men in kilts, Wren promises to bring you laughter, sexy fun time, and action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The easiest way to her heart is anything to do with the Green Bay Packers, Doctor Who, or Joss Whedon.

FOOTBALL SUNDAE by Daryl Banner

Review of FOOTBALL SUNDAE by Daryl Banner

Got to me honest, this was my second M/M book I’ve read. First one I read was by a different author and wasn’t bad, but didn’t trip my trigger. And I really wanted to try another M/M book. I AM SOOO GLAD I DID!!
Tucker and Tanner’s story is a fantastically sweet romantic story with some very steamy moments. It was entertaining watching these two tip-toe around each other in the beginning. (Poor Tanner and the Tackler) Then watching their relationship grow and blossom. I LOVED both of these men.

If you have ever thought about trying a M/M book, I highly recommend this one. And if you are a fan already of M/M books, I still highly recommend Football Sundae. Wonderfully relaxing, loving, and hot read.

THE ROOM MATE by Kendall Ryan

RMbanner

room-mate_amazonThe last time I saw my best friend’s younger brother, he was a geek wearing braces. But when Cannon shows up to crash in my spare room, I get a swift reality check.

Now twenty-four, he’s broad shouldered and masculine, and so sinfully sexy, I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy. At six-foot-something with lean muscles hiding under his T-shirt, a deep sexy voice, and full lips that pull into a smirk when he studies me, he’s pure temptation.

Fresh out of a messy breakup, he doesn’t want any entanglements. But I can resist, right?

I’m holding strong until the third night of our new arrangement when we get drunk and he confesses his biggest secret of all: he’s cursed when it comes to sex. Apparently he’s a god in bed, and women instantly fall in love with him.

I’m calling bullshit. In fact, I’m going to prove him wrong, and if I rack up a few much-needed orgasms in the process, all the better.

There’s no way I’m going to fall in love with Cannon. But once we start…I realize betting against him may have been the biggest mistake of my life.

My Review

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into starting this book. Prologue was a VERY interesting beginning to say the least. Cannon hasn’t had very good luck with the opposite sex. And when he’s evicted because of his recent ex, he has the opportunity to live with Paige for a couple months. I loved these two together. The spark and connection Cannon and Paige have is wonderful. Allie, Cannon’s older sister and Paige’s supposed best friend, is not my favorite person. Her selfish attitude really got on my nerves, but done in a way I was rooting even more for Cannon and Paige. The book is 5 stars from beginning to end. I was laughing, cussing, gasping, and wishing Cannon was for real.

review-1

Overall, I did love the book. I’m not really sure if it was her young age or her extremely mousy personality the first part of the book. But Vi, in the beginning, really got on my nerves. Corbin I loved from the beginning. An alpha soldier through and through, but finds patience he didn’t know he possessed when it comes to Vi. Corbin and Vi are perfect together and I loved watching their relationship grow and blossom until the lie. Now I’m impatiently waiting for the conclusion, Truth Revealed! I’ve become a big fan of KD Robichaux’s writing.

Keep in mind, this is the first part of a duet. So, there is a cliffhanger. But 5 stars for sure!

About the Author

KD

KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she picked up her mom’s Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went to college to become a writer, but then married and had babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom, who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads. From there, by word of mouth, her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a Senior Editor for Hot Tree Editing. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series, The Blogger Diaries, her very own real life romance.

UNTIL Series by Aurora Rose Reynolds

These are books I’ve had for a couple of years. Had some free time over the holidays and decided it was time to finally read these. Especially since I’ve enjoyed so many of her other books. So, here are the reviews, short and sweet, of each of the books in Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Until series.

51tp3afzfzl

What a fun read! I couldn’t put it down once I started! One of the best love-at-first-sight books I’ve read. And there was nothing like the way Asher stuck his foot in his mouth when meeting November for the first time. Of course there is also the Asher-fog that November “suffers” from. I just loved how these two came together and the magic they make.

I have had this book for a while and I’m a little mad at myself for taking so long to read it. You get glimpses of the other Mayson brothers, now I can’t wait to get to Trevor’s book now!

51xdmd5yx7l

Love the dynamic between these two. Liz and Trevor go together perfectly. I had to chuckle everytime he hauled, dragged or put her where he wanted her. I enjoyed the glimpses into the new things going on with Asher and November. And of course the upcoming glipses into Cash’s story. One slight disappointment, Liz has an allergic reaction for the first time. Testing, given an Epipen then nothing. Irregardless I love this book! Off to start book 3 now.

51adzxtlkul

This is now my favorite in Aurora’s Until series. Cash and Lilly are great. Love the connection between these two. Jules is absolutely crazy, and not the good kind. Lilly’s parents are hysterical. Loved her dad.

I was thrilled Lilly gave Cash a second chance. They definitely had some struggles. But I loved how easily Lilly accepted Jax. Once again, a great story with great characters!

51covqca7tl

The fourth and final book in Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Until series. I really enjoyed it, but I think, Until Lilly is still my favorite.

One thing I have to say, Nico is definitely determined. Or that returning a phone would totally change his life for the better. I love Nico’s patience with Sofia, but yet gives her a push or nudge every so often. And of course, you have the added drama of someone trying to break into Sofia’s house.

Certainly enough going on to make you wonder what will happen next or how it will end. Great story from a great author and a great way to end this series. I’m so glad she has continued on with stories for the kids as the Until Her and Until Him series.

Aurora Rose Reynolds is absolutely one of my one-click authors. I will not hesitate to buy any new releases.

Review: NO TRESPASSING by K.D. Robichaux

9781540331786_p0_v1_s192x300

This is a book that came out fairly recently, but I hadn’t had the time or chance to read it. Well, over the holidays I found the time to read some of those I’ve been dying to read. No Trespassing by K.D. Robichaux. Here is the review I put on Goodreads, Nook, Kobo & iBooks. If I missed any K.D., I’m sorry. (FYI – Amazon won’t let me review ANY book)

“I know this is KD Robichaux’s first fictional novel. But I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Emmy is lovably nerdy, but finally stepped out of her comfort zone to try to beat that dastardly Dean (her words for him are even worse). Dean is wonderfully alpha, but yet romantically sweet (I wish my husband was more like Dean, but don’t tell him I said that). Loved this book from beginning to end. Didn’t want to put it down! Can’t wait to see what KD comes up with next!”

Reviews!

So this is something new I decided to do. As you may or may not know, Amazon and I are no longer friends. Amazon has chosen to pull every review I’ve ever written on their site. They also will not let me post any new reviews. I still post reviews on any venue I can, but alas, Amazon is not one of them.

Hence the start of posting my reviews here. I’m not the best at writing them, so I tend to keep them really short. I’m not sure if I will just stick with what I originally write or expound a bit here.

Going forward, all my reviews will be found under the Reviews category. Whether it’s a book I’ve read as part of a book tour or release, or whether it’s one I’ve read for the fun of it (like the one I’ll post shortly).

Hope you enjoy this!
