Ok, I bought this YEARS ago, I’m not even going to admit how long I’ve owned this book, simply because another author I love recommended Kristen Ashley. I REALLY wish I would have given her books a try much sooner. It’s been a while since I’ve truly laughed this much at a book. If you like a good rom-com with a sexy alpha male, I strongly suggest giving this book a try.So, I finally decided it was time to change the fact I hadn’t tried her writing. I started with Rock Chick. I so fell in love with all the characters and the story. Only one book down, but I think I’m now a Kristen Ashley fan.
Indy and her antics had me rolling with laughter. She is an absolute riot to read, but I have to feel for Lee, cuz those antics would also be an nightmare to deal with in a relationship. But these two are magic together, and positively perfect for each other. My favorite bit has to be the bar fight when Lee was going after a skip. I still laugh thinking about that one.
If you are like me and haven’t tried Ms. Ashley’s books, I suggest you give them a try. And try Rock Chick especially if you like the Stephanie Plum books. Personally, I’m going to immediately going to dive into Rock Chick Rescue now.
OVERVIEW
Indy Savage, cop’s daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy’s employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicting matters, Lee has decided he’s interested, Indy’s decided she’s not. But she can’t seem to keep Lee out of her life when she’s repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she’s finding dead bodies).
Indy’s best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee’s challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.
